Safe Harbor asking for community
donations
Each day, Safe Harbor of
Northeast Kentucky opens its doors to women and
children in the FIVCO region who have been
physically, mentally and sexually abused.
Recent near-full conditions at the
shelter and advocacy center have increased the need
for items used in daily life - items that many of
Safe Harbor’s clients cannot afford and items the
shelter is constantly running out of due to demand.
Most desperately needed items include:
Feminine hygiene products, size 3,4,5 diapers and
training pants, diaper wipes, bleach, canned fruits,
new underwear (ladies small), socks, pajamas, career
clothes, shoes, toiletries, and calling cards and
gift cards.
Furniture and household items in demand include:
Alarm clocks, towels, cleaning supplies, bed frames
and mattresses, dressers, sofas, recliners, kitchen
tables and any other items a client needs when they
move out of the shelter and on their own.
Currently Safe Harbor is in desperate need of
reliable transportation in order to assist women and
their families trying to escape a domestic violence
situation. Our vans were donated and are several
years old. They have hundreds of thousands of miles
and they are in the shop more than they are on the
road. We are accepting donations for any vehicle
including a car, van or monetary donations so that
we may purchase a new vehicle.
Any
donations are greatly appreciated and are
tax-deductible.
Please help us in continuing our mission to help end
the cycle of domestic violence. If you would like to
request more information or to make a donation call
Safe Harbor at (606) 329-9304 or (800) 926-2150 and
monetary donations can be sent to PO Box 2163,
Ashland, KY 41105.
